Donation for the children’s foundation “Die Arche”

Every day, the work of the children’s foundation “Die Arche” – German for Ark – supports socially disadvantaged children and families. Founded in 1995, it offers free lunches for schoolchildren as well as free homework supervision and tutoring, as well as a wide range of leisure activities and holiday camps for children and adolescents alongside support and counselling services for parents. Deutsche Börse Commodities has been sponsoring the Ark for many years and has once again made its traditional Christmas donation.

Father Christmas for a day: helping in person is the best way

Dr Michael König, Managing Director of Deutsche Börse Commodities Ltd, took the opportunity on 6 December 2023 to personally hand over the annual donation of €2,000. He also served biscuits, gingerbread, mandarins and nuts to the children and teens at the Ark – after all, it was St Nicholas’ Day. But that’s not all – why only help once a year when you can do it twice?

A helping hand for World Children’s Day

Shortly before World Children’s Day, the Ark needed active support – an opportunity for the Deutsche Börse Commodities team to roll up their sleeves and get busy. Both Managing Directors, Dr Michael König and Steffen Orben, and their team colleagues Martina Jantzen and Mateja Maric took a day off from Xetra-Gold business and served a large pizza order to the children and teens. They also helped the pupils with their homework, chatted with them and, of course, took part in the games that followed, including inline skating, which was great fun for everyone.
